I was asked by my friends at Mommytalk to do another craft, I was in the mist of making a paperbag album for all the kids summer treasure. I love making paperbag albums, they are quick and easy.
Summertime Paper bag albums
If you are a scrapbooker like me, you have probably made a few paper bag albums. If not, paper bag albums are easy scrapbooks to hold treasures, and pictures of those special moments in your kids life. Plus use up some of those leftover lunch bags from the school year! With a little prep work from you, mom, your kids will have a cute scrapbook they can preserve all those summer memories.
You will need:
4 paper lunch bags
A hole punch
Lots of ribbon
Brads
Tons of decorating supplies
-crayons
-markers
-paint
-stamps
-glitter etc.
*Take a lunch bag and fold the bottom part in, so the very bottom of the bag is facing in.
*Punch holes along the fold about ½ in. in from the fold.
*Using the first bags holes as a guide punch holes in the rest of the bags, it is easier to do this one at a time. If you have an all that will work great to.
*Unfold bags lay one on top of each other and fold them together.
*Thread ribbon through the holes and use a brad to secure ribbon in place.
*Decorate each page with your summer adventures, using the bag opening as your “pocket” to place tickets, post cards and pictures.
* To add a little flair to your tickets, cut a piece of ribbon about 1 ½ in. long, fold it into a “V” and staple to top of your memorabilia.
Here is one I finished a few months ago, it was a housewarming gift. I used the pockets to store seeds for their new garden.

I was the recipient of the garden-in-a-bag and loved it. Wish I knew where she got all this creativity from.

[...] Inspired by a fellow bloggers picture, shadow pictures are an easy activity. Just grab your camera and have the kids grab some object. With the kids back to the sun start snapping pictures. Have them hold a ball, move their arms and legs in different positions. Keep those pictures in your summer paper bag album! [...]

I love your site. I was drawn to the title–very cute. I think this paper bag book ideas is great–the only thing is that I don’t have paper bags lying around, as my daughter has a lunch box. How about doing this craft with envelopes (like from junk mail? Good for recycling and it might offer some interesting colors and papers. What do you think?
